Young Thug Calls Out Gunna in Since-Deleted Tweet

Following his recent release from jail, it appears Young Thug has no plans for a YSL reunion with Gunna. Thugger took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday (Nov. 9) to post a cryptic message seemingly aimed at Gunna, saying, “Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know you my guy.” The tweet quickly gained attention but was deleted shortly after, sparking a wave of fan speculation about their relationship.

Fans have long questioned the status of the bond between Thug and Gunna. While Gunna remains signed to YSL Records, he has largely kept his thoughts on their relationship private. Earlier this year, he told XXL, “It’s the same… It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship,” without delving deeper.

Both rappers were arrested in May 2022 in a sprawling RICO case targeting YSL Records. Gunna secured his release that December through an Alford plea, a move that led to rumors of cooperation. However, Gunna’s attorney, Steve Sadow, was quick to dismiss these claims, stating that Gunna “did not snitch” and had not cooperated with authorities.

Young Thug, who remained incarcerated until he reached his own plea deal on October 31, received a 15-year probation sentence, allowing him to walk free. Since then, he has yet to directly address the deleted tweet, but Gunna’s brother, DP, hinted at a mutual lack of reconciliation in The Shade Room’s comments, writing, “Trust and believe the feeling is mutual.”

Thugger’s next music move seems to align with Lil Baby, who has also distanced himself from Gunna following the RICO case. In another recent tweet, Thugger wrote, “Wham let’s drop one on these rats peter,” suggesting new music with Lil Baby. Billboards with the phrase “Whatever Wham Says Goes” have even appeared in Los Angeles, adding fuel to speculation of a brewing collaboration targeting their former collaborator.
