South African sensation Tyla is set to deliver a highly anticipated performance at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards. The ceremony, scheduled to air on Thursday, December 12, on FOX, Fire TV Channels, and Paramount+, promises a night of memorable moments, celebrating the year’s most significant achievements in music.

Tyla’s breakout year has been marked by remarkable milestones, including her global hit “Water,” which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January and earned the first-ever Grammy for Best African Music Performance. Her debut album, “Tyla”, also made an impressive showing, reaching No. 24 on the Billboard 200 in April.

As a finalist in eight categories, Tyla’s presence at the BBMAs highlights her growing influence on the global music scene. She’s been nominated for top honours, including Top R&B Artist, Top Afrobeats Artist, and Top R&B Album, among others. Her dominance in the Top Afrobeats Song category is particularly notable, with three tracks—“Truth or Dare,” “Water,” and “Jump” (featuring Gunna and Skillibeng) vying for the award.

The 2024 BBMAs will feature exclusive performances, artist interviews, and celebrations of music’s biggest accomplishments from around the globe. Hosted by Michelle Buteau, the event will also include performances from artists like SEVENTEEN and Teddy Swims, with more names to be revealed soon.
