The ceremony, scheduled to air on Thursday, December 12, on FOX, Fire TV Channels, and Paramount+, promises a night of memorable moments, celebrating the year’s most significant achievements in music.
Tyla’s breakout year has been marked by remarkable milestones, including her global hit “Water,” which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January and earned the first-ever Grammy for Best African Music Performance. Her debut album, “Tyla”, also made an impressive showing, reaching No. 24 on the Billboard 200 in April.
As a finalist in eight categories, Tyla’s presence at the BBMAs highlights her growing influence on the global music scene. She’s been nominated for top honours, including Top R&B Artist, Top Afrobeats Artist, and Top R&B Album, among others. Her dominance in the Top Afrobeats Song category is particularly notable, with three tracks—“Truth or Dare,” “Water,” and “Jump” (featuring Gunna and Skillibeng) vying for the award.
