Post Malone Joins Sublime for a Surprise Performance of “What I Got”

Post Malone is no stranger to sharing the stage and creating unforgettable moments. Over the weekend, he added another chapter to his history with Sublime during a corporate event hosted by Power Home Remodeling in Cancun. Known for his love of the legendary band, Posty casually strolled out to join Sublime during their set, bringing his signature energy to their iconic 1996 hit, “What I Got.”

Dressed in his laid-back style—jeans, a flannel shirt, and a baseball cap—Post Malone jumped into the performance with Sublime’s lead vocalist, Jakob Nowell. Nowell, the son of the late Bradley Nowell, carried on his father’s legacy as he traded verses with Malone. Together, they delivered the song’s famous lyrics, including the timeless lines:

“Life is too short, so love the one you got / ‘Cause you might get run over, or you might get shot.”

As the chorus rang out, their voices blended effortlessly, singing, “Lovin’ is what I got / I said remember that,” with Nowell on electric guitar. The spontaneous collaboration thrilled the crowd and underscored Malone’s genuine connection to Sublime’s music.

This isn’t the first time Post Malone has shared the stage with Sublime. Back in 2019, he joined the band—then fronted by Rome Ramirez—for a performance of their hit “Santeria” during his Dive Bar Tour. Shortly after, Sublime returned the favour by covering Malone’s “Goodbyes,” featuring Young Thug.

Their musical camaraderie has crossed borders and genres. In 2023, during his tour of Australia and New Zealand, Post Malone surprised fans yet again by stepping into Danny Doolan’s Irish Pub in Auckland. There, he delivered a country-infused version of “What I Got” alongside the house band, further showcasing his love for Sublime’s timeless tunes.

Post Malone’s ability to connect with audiences and fellow artists alike continues to shine. Whether it’s in front of a packed corporate crowd or an intimate pub setting, Posty’s passion for music and collaboration remains at the heart of his artistry.
