The Weeknd and Spotify have collaborated to release Billions Club Live, a concert film celebrating the singer’s monumental streaming achievements.
The 45-minute film, which premiered on Tuesday, captures The Weeknd’s one-night-only concert in Los Angeles. The event marked his record-breaking milestone of having 25 songs surpass one billion streams each on Spotify. In addition to performing fan-favorite hits, The Weeknd treated attendees to new tracks from his upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. The film also features reflective voiceovers from the artist, sharing gratitude for his global audience and looking back on his illustrious career.
The concert film, produced by OBB Pictures, will stream exclusively on Spotify for the first 48 hours. Marc Hazan, Spotify’s Vice President of Partnerships and Marketing, called the event a “reward” for fans and a “historic moment” in music.
“Spotify is known for bringing fans and artists together better than any other platform, which is why we’re excited to see the reaction to our first-ever concert film celebrating The Weeknd’s milestone of 25 songs with one billion+ streams,” Hazan stated. “This isn’t just a concert; it’s a celebration of a historic moment in music.”
The exclusive event, held in December in Los Angeles, welcomed over 1,700 of The Weeknd’s top Spotify listeners, alongside celebrity guests like d4vd, Ava Max, Jimmy Tatro, Patrick Ta, Adam Savani, and Teezo Touchdown.
