Coupe Reflects on His Grammy-Nominated Work with Latto

ATL-based producer Coupe has reached a new milestone in his career with his first-ever Grammy nomination for Latto’s track Big Mama. Known for crafting hits with the South’s biggest rappers, Coupe’s journey has been filled with chart-topping success, including Peaches & Eggplants with Young Nudy, which peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Set to take place on February 2 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the 67th Annual Grammy Awards will feature Big Mama in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category. The track, co-produced by Coupe alongside Oz and Masterpiece, gained recognition not just for its high-energy trap elements but also for its contribution to Latto’s Sugar Honey Iced Tea album, which climbed to No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and secured the top spot on the Rap Albums chart.

Despite facing tough competition from tracks by Beyoncé, Future, Metro Boomin, and more, Coupe sees this Grammy nod as a defining moment in his career. Reflecting on the impact of his work, he expressed gratitude for being part of Latto’s journey and acknowledged the significance of the nomination for his late father’s musical aspirations.

With a busy schedule, Coupe remains focused on new projects, including an upcoming Detroit R&B record for Real Boston Richey. While he may miss attending the Grammys due to family commitments, he remains hopeful for what’s ahead. “Bringing that Grammy home would be next level,” he shared, underscoring his dedication to pushing the boundaries of his craft.
