Saquon Barkley, fresh off celebrating his 2025 Super Bowl victory with the Philadelphia Eagles, has spoken out against the treatment Taylor Swift received during the big game. During a SiriusXM interview with Howard Stern on February 12, the star running back questioned why some fans booed the singer when she appeared on the stadium’s jumbotron.
“I don’t get why she was getting hate,” Barkley stated, emphasising Swift’s significant role in expanding the game’s popularity. Attending the event to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, as the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Eagles, Swift laughed off the moment despite the negative reaction from some in the crowd.
Following the incident, Serena Williams and Flavor Flav voiced their support for Swift online, urging her to disregard the boos. Even Jimmy Kimmel chimed in, pushing back against remarks from Donald Trump, who claimed she was “booed out of the stadium.” Kimmel pointed out that it was Eagles fans who were responsible and took a jab at Trump for making the situation about himself.
Despite the brief controversy, Swift’s presence at NFL games continues to be a major talking point, further blending the worlds of sports and entertainment.
