Today, A$AP Rocky and Margaret Qualley appear in a newly released short film — directed by Michel Gondry — commissioned by the luxury fashion house Chanel.

Known for his surreal, inventive filmmaking, Gondry’s three-minute video opens with the pair awakening together in bed and evolves into a cinematic, romantic chase across Manhattan. Qualley leaves the apartment and boards a subway, prompting Rocky to follow: he dashes through New York streets, swims under the bridge, and navigates the city in a bid to catch up — all culminating in a dramatic subway-station proposal.
The film coincides with a significant new chapter for Chanel. A$AP Rocky has been officially unveiled as the brand’s latest ambassador — a role reflecting his creativity, style, and broader cultural influence.
In a statement introducing the collaboration, Chanel’s artistic director said Rocky was chosen for his “talent, curiosity and limitless creativity.” For his part, Rocky described working with Chanel’s new creative team as exciting, praising the brand’s vision and expressing admiration for Gondry’s artistry.
The short film serves as a prelude to Chanel’s upcoming Métiers d’Art 2026 show, directed under the creative leadership of Matthieu Blazy, marking his first such collection for the house.
