North West reached a new milestone in her young music career with her first solo festival performance at Summer Smash 2026 on June 12.
Performing in front of a packed crowd at the festival organized by Lyrical Lemonade, the 12-year-old artist took the stage wearing a black Balenciaga outfit, dark sunglasses, spiked accessories, and long blue pigtails. During her set, she performed “TALKING,” the track she previously recorded with her father, Ye, from his album Vultures 1.

The performance drew enthusiastic reactions from festivalgoers, with videos circulating online showing the audience singing and jumping along to the song. Ye later shared clips from the performance on social media, celebrating the moment with fans.
Kim Kardashian also documented the occasion, posting backstage photos and videos that captured North’s arrival and performance. One clip showed the young artist running toward the stage moments before her set, highlighting the significance of her first festival appearance.
The performance comes shortly after the release of North’s debut EP, N0rth4evr, which arrived in May. The project marked her first major solo release following several high-profile collaborations and guest appearances.
Before launching her own music, North gained attention through appearances on Ye and Ty Dolla $ign‘s Vultures project and contributions to FKA twigs‘ album EUSEXUA. Earlier this year, she also released the single “Piercing on My Hand” and joined her father during performances at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
With a debut EP, major collaborations, and now her first solo festival set, North West continues taking early steps into music while building an identity beyond her famous family name.
