Shakira has scored her first-ever No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart with “Dai Dai,” her collaboration with Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy. The song reaches the top spot on the chart dated Sept. 5, 2026, marking a new milestone in Shakira’s career and another major chart achievement for the World Cup anthem.
“Dai Dai” rises from No. 3 to No. 1 after registering as the most-played song on the U.S. rhythmic radio stations monitored for the Aug. 21–27 tracking period, according to Luminate. The track replaces Drake’s “Shabang,” which had spent the previous two weeks at the top of the chart.
The result gives Burna Boy his first Rhythmic Airplay No. 1 as a lead artist and his second chart leader overall. For Shakira, the achievement comes more than two decades into her U.S. radio-chart career and represents her first time reaching the summit of the Rhythmic Airplay ranking.
The collaboration was released in May as the official FIFA World Cup 2026 song. FIFA announced that royalties from “Dai Dai” would support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which was established to expand access to education and football opportunities for children around the world.
The song has continued to perform strongly across international charts following the World Cup. “Dai Dai” extends its run at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 to seven weeks and remains at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart for a 10th week.
Its U.S. radio performance has also expanded beyond Rhythmic Airplay. “Dai Dai” climbs from No. 31 to No. 28 on Billboard’s all-genre Radio Songs chart, with its audience impressions increasing 7% to 18.2 million during the latest tracking week.
The song has also maintained a strong presence internationally. The Official Charts Company currently lists “Dai Dai” at No. 14 on the U.K. Official Singles Chart for the week dated Sept. 6, following a peak at No. 8. The track has spent 14 weeks on the U.K. chart and six weeks inside the top 10.
“Dai Dai” was also central to the 2026 FIFA World Cup’s musical programming, bringing together Shakira’s Latin pop sound with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats style. The pair performed the song during the World Cup final halftime show on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
As of Sept. 3, 2026, “Dai Dai” remains at the center of Shakira’s strongest radio and global chart run of the year, while the Rhythmic Airplay No. 1 gives the Colombian singer another major entry in her long Billboard history.
