Offset has revealed that he was aware of Cardi B’s single “Outside” prior to its public release. During an appearance on the Joe Budden Podcast, he shared: “I actually knew about the song before the song came out, like prior to the bull—‑ sh*t that was happening… Everything is a timing thing. That record’s been done. I know about the record. It look like how it look.”

The track, released on June 20, 2025, is the lead single from Cardi B’s upcoming second studio album, Am I the Drama? It debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her thirteenth top-ten hit. In the song, Cardi appears to address her estranged husband, Offset, while also hinting at her romantic involvement with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
Offset confirmed that his forthcoming solo album, Kiari, will not serve as a platform to address the personal conflict. “It’s therapy,” he explained. “I’m not targeting anyone on this album… I might discuss my life experiences, but I’m avoiding that.”
Current Update (as of August 6, 2025)
Offset’s comments clarify that “Outside” had been completed well before its June release, suggesting that its timing was strategic rather than reactionary. Cardi B’s single continues to drive sales and streaming momentum as anticipation builds for Am I the Drama?, expected later this year. Offset’s Kiari remains on course, with no indication that the drama will influence its content.
