The British singer-songwriter PinkPantheress delivered what may be the most confident and fully realized performance of her career during the opening night of her An Evening With… PinkPantheress Tour in New York City.

Since first slipping into playlists with 2021’s “Break It Off,” and later taking the world by storm with her Ice Spice-assisted 2023 smash “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2,” PinkPantheress has become one of the most distinctive voices of her generation. Her music — an inventive blend of drum and bass, UK garage, and alternative pop — captures the humour, self-awareness, and emotional candour of Gen Z while keeping an unmistakably DIY charm.
On Friday night (Oct. 24), just a week after releasing her Fancy Some More remix project, PinkPantheress kicked off the North American leg of her tour at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre. Opening with “Stateside,” she commanded the stage across a three-tiered platform, flanked by her playful DJ on one side and her drummer on the other. Over the course of a little more than an hour, she performed her Fancy That mixtape, which peaked at No. 4 on the Dance Albums chart earlier this year — alongside fan favourites like “Just for Me,” “I Must Apologise,” “Another Life,” and “Mosquito.”
This tour marks her third headlining trek in as many years, and it’s clear that PinkPantheress has grown remarkably as a performer. Her movements, facial expressions, and banter showed a newfound confidence and charisma. Together with her creative team, she’s refined her stagecraft to perfectly match her aesthetic cozy, relatable, and just a touch ironic.
To bring her intimate energy to a 3,250-capacity venue, she enlisted The Pinkettes, a faux girl group formed with her two backup dancers. Dressed in PinkPantheress-inspired outfits, they added humor, choreography, and personality, giving the show a fuller, more dynamic visual presence than her previous Capable of Love Tour.
Visually, the concert leaned into her signature 2000s-inspired aesthetic — that soft, slightly offbeat charm reminiscent of an old JCPenney catalog. It’s this understated visual identity that makes PinkPantheress stand apart from her more glamorous contemporaries. She finds sparkle in both the mundane and the profound, moving effortlessly from a kitschy reimagining of Romeo & Juliet (“Romeo”) to lighthearted references to Internet memes during her banter.
Among the evening’s highlights was DJ Joe, who proved to be a ball of energy throughout the set. Acting as both DJ and hype man, he joined in on choreography, showed off his own sturdy dance moves, and kept the show flowing with witty lyric cue cards that perfectly matched the crowd’s ironic sense of humor.
Another standout moment came during “Girl Like Me,” when PinkPantheress and her Pinkettes launched into a surprise dance battle featuring nods to the KATSEYE Gap commercial, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and even Aunt Viv’s iconic moves. Though not a trained dancer, PinkPantheress found creative and charming ways to weave movement into her performance.
Later in the set, she combined her cinematic storytelling with humor during “Romeo” and her hit “Boy’s a Liar.” After jokingly “searching” the audience for her Romeo, she brought a fan — seemingly planted — onstage to dance with her. When he unexpectedly began flipping across the stage, Pink stopped mid-song and exclaimed, “You’re not my Romeo!” before immediately launching into her viral hit. The sequence was equal parts stage comedy and social commentary, blending wit and musicality in true PinkPantheress fashion.
By the end of the night, it was clear that An Evening With… PinkPantheress is a showcase of growth, humor, and self-discovery. With a sharper stage presence, a playful creative vision, and her signature campy intimacy intact, PinkPantheress has officially levelled up and the world is watching.
