Jason Kelce has revealed a funny detail about his daughters’ first interactions with Taylor Swift, explaining that the children initially had trouble dropping the singer’s famous surname when speaking to her. The story came up during the Sept. 16 episode of the New Heights podcast, hosted by Jason and his brother Travis Kelce.
Travis explained that when Jason and Kylie Kelce’s daughters first met Swift, they continued calling her “Taylor Swift” rather than simply using her first name. Jason has four daughters with Kylie: Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley.
Jason recalled the girls repeatedly addressing Swift by her full name, even when asking her questions. He imitated the children saying, “Taylor Swift, can I do this?” while explaining that he eventually reminded them that they could simply call her Taylor.
The conversation came while the brothers were discussing Jason’s daughters and Travis’ own experience meeting actor Tom Cruise. Travis said he initially found himself calling Cruise by his full name before becoming more familiar with him, drawing a comparison with the girls’ early interactions with Swift.
Since those first meetings, Swift has become a familiar member of the Kelce family. The singer married Travis Kelce on July 3, 2026, at a ceremony at Madison Square Garden, and Jason and Kylie’s daughters participated as flower girls.
Jason previously spoke about his daughters’ involvement in the wedding, describing the event as special for the family and saying that Travis and Swift love the girls. Kylie has also referred to Swift as “Aunt Taylor” and discussed the relationship between Swift and her daughters.
Kylie previously shared that her daughters have also been influenced by Swift’s love of cats, noting that the children get to spend time around Swift’s cats. Swift has spoken publicly about spending time with the girls, including baking activities during her relationship with Travis.
The latest story provides an update on how the relationship between Swift and Jason and Kylie’s children has developed since those early introductions, with the girls now referring to the singer as their aunt rather than repeatedly using her full stage name.
