All the Guests at Shakira’s Madrid Residency (Updating)

Shakira’s Madrid residency has brought a series of surprise appearances from major Latin and international artists, turning the 12-concert run into a showcase of musical collaborations. The residency began on Sept. 18 at Macondo Park, a purpose-built venue at Iberdrola Music in Madrid, as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The Colombian superstar has welcomed several special guests to the stage, including Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, Manuel Turizo and Dua Lipa.

The first two nights featured no surprise musical guests, as Shakira delivered a set spanning different stages of her career. The performances included songs such as “Girl Like Me,” “Te Felicito,” “TQG,” “Soltera” and “Hips Don’t Lie,” alongside “Te Dejo Madrid,” which was added to the setlist for the residency.

On Sept. 25, Italian singer Laura Pausini joined Shakira, becoming the first musical guest of the Madrid residency. Her appearance was followed the next night by Alejandro Sanz, who reunited with Shakira to perform their 2005 hit “La Tortura.” The Spanish singer’s appearance drew a strong response from the audience, with Shakira introducing him as “mi hermano,” or “my brother.”

On Sept. 26, Sanz returned for a second consecutive night, performing “Corazón Partío” with Shakira in addition to “La Tortura.” The performances revisited the artists’ musical partnership, which began with their collaboration on “La Tortura,” released in 2005.

Manuel Turizo became the next guest on Sept. 27, joining Shakira for “Copa Vacía.” The two Colombian artists released the collaboration in 2023, but their Madrid appearance marked a live performance of the song together in Spain. Turizo’s appearance had been teased by Shakira on social media before the concert.

The residency’s next major guest appearance came on Oct. 3, when Dua Lipa joined Shakira onstage for a duet of “Antología.” The performance marked the first time the two international pop stars had shared a stage. Before singing together, Shakira expressed her admiration for Lipa, who performed the Spanish-language ballad alongside her in front of the audience.

The guest appearances have accompanied Shakira’s extensive setlist, which spans her decades-long career and includes songs from Pies Descalzos, Fijación Oral and Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. The residency has drawn large crowds to the temporary Estadio Shakira venue at the Iberdrola Music site.

Shakira’s Madrid residency continues with additional concerts scheduled for Oct. 4, 9, 10 and 11. The remaining dates leave room for further guest appearances as the singer brings this run of performances in Madrid toward its scheduled conclusion.
