Kelly Clarkson Wins One & Loses One at 2026 Daytime Emmys

Kelly Clarkson’s daytime television success continued at the 2026 Daytime Emmy Awards, where The Kelly Clarkson Show won Outstanding Daytime Talk Series. However, the singer and television host missed out on the Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host award, which went to Sherri Shepherd for her work on Sherri.

The 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards took place on Friday, October 30, at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The ceremony celebrated achievements across daytime television, including talk shows, soap operas, lifestyle programming, news and entertainment.

Clarkson’s show won Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, beating out 3rd Hour of TODAY, The Drew Barrymore Show, Live with Kelly and Mark, TODAY with Jenna & Friends and The View. The win came after the program concluded its seven-season run earlier this year.

The series also collected awards in several production categories. Its victories included Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing for a Live Daytime Program, Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design for a Daytime Program, and Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup for a Daytime Program, which resulted in a tie.

Clarkson was nominated for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host alongside Sherri Shepherd, Jennifer Hudson, Tamron Hall and the co-hosts of The View. Shepherd ultimately claimed the award, adding to the recognition surrounding the final season of her own daytime program, which ended earlier this year.

Clarkson was not present at the Hollywood Palladium ceremony, and awards for her show were accepted on its behalf. The singer had previously announced that The Kelly Clarkson Show would conclude after its seventh season, explaining that she wanted to prioritize her family while continuing to pursue music and other projects.

The show premiered in September 2019 and became known for Clarkson’s interviews with celebrities, emotional conversations and the popular “Kellyoke” segment, in which she performed covers of songs by a wide range of artists. The program earned multiple Daytime Emmy nominations and wins during its run, including previous victories for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host.

The 2026 ceremony also saw General Hospital win Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, while Beyond the Gates secured four awards from its 15 nominations. Sherri Shepherd’s hosting win marked another major moment for the former daytime talk show, while Clarkson’s series received recognition for its overall production and programming.

The awards came two months after The Kelly Clarkson Show aired its final episode on August 31. Clarkson closed the program with a musical celebration of her career, performing several of her biggest hits and sharing the stage with her children, River and Remington.
