The 2026 BET Awards delivered another unforgettable celebration of Black excellence in music, film, television, and sports. Held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, this year’s ceremony brought together some of the biggest names in entertainment. The night featured major award wins, emotional tributes, standout performances, and memorable fashion moments.
One of the evening’s biggest winners was Teyana Taylor.
The singer, actress, and creative director took home four awards, including the prestigious Icon of the Year honor. She also won Best Actress, Fashion Vanguard Award, and Video Director of the Year for her visual project Escape Room.
Taylor became emotional while accepting the night’s biggest award. She reflected on her journey in the entertainment industry and thanked everyone who had supported her career over the years.
Another defining moment came when Lauryn Hill received the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award. The music icon was honored with a star-studded tribute featuring performances from SZA, Doja Cat, Queen Latifah, Common, Tems, Lizzo, and Nas. Hill later closed the tribute with a powerful performance of her classic hit “Ex-Factor,” earning one of the loudest ovations of the night.
The BET Awards also delivered an exciting lineup of live performances.
Cardi B, Kehlani, Tems, Don Toliver, RAYE, Baby Keem, French Montana, Rick Ross, and T.I. all brought high-energy performances to the stage. Their appearances kept audiences entertained throughout the ceremony.
On the awards side, Cardi B added another trophy to her growing collection after winning Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Kehlani was named Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, while Leon Thomas earned Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. Doechii and SZA also celebrated major wins following another successful year.
