Carín León returned to the Sphere in Las Vegas on Friday, Sept. 11, one day after canceling his scheduled performance because of problems involving the aircraft transporting him to the city. The Mexican regional music star resumed his residency in front of approximately 20,000 people.
The concert featured special appearances from Pepe Aguilar and José Guadalupe Esparza, the frontman of Bronco. Aguilar joined León for performances of “Lamentablemente” and “Por Mujeres Como Tú,” while Esparza also appeared during the show.
León opened the performance with messages celebrating Mexico and his hometown of Hermosillo, Sonora. The Sphere’s massive screens displayed images connected to Sonora, including the desert landscape, cactus, coyotes, Hermosillo Cathedral and Cerro de la Campana.
The show also included a tribute to León’s late loved ones during “Cuando la Vida Sea Trago,” with photographs and candle imagery displayed as part of the production. The concert featured more than 25 songs and incorporated the Sphere’s large-scale visual technology throughout the performance.
León’s Sphere residency began Sept. 4 and marks the first residency at the venue by a Latino and Spanish-language artist. The run consists of seven scheduled performances, with additional Sphere dates already announced for September 2027.
The return came shortly after León’s Sept. 10 concert was canceled when technical problems involving two aircraft disrupted his travel from Hermosillo. That canceled performance was rescheduled for Sept. 15, 2027, while the remaining 2026 performances continued as scheduled.
