Celine Dion Falls Mid-Performance During Paris Concert — Then Carries On Like the Pro She Is

Céline Dion briefly fell onstage during her Paris concert on Wednesday, Oct. 7, but quickly got back to her feet, reassured the audience and continued performing without bringing the show to a halt. The incident occurred during the singer’s 11th performance of her ongoing residency at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, France.

The 58-year-old singer was performing “Dans un autre monde” when she appeared to lose her balance and fall onto the stage. Videos recorded by concertgoers circulated on social media after the performance, showing Dion getting back up almost immediately and giving fans a thumbs-up to indicate that she was okay.

The brief fall prompted concern among fans, particularly because Dion has spent recent years dealing with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that can cause muscle stiffness and painful spasms. However, there has been no confirmed indication that the incident was related to her condition, and no serious injury was reported in the immediate aftermath.

The fall was not the only unexpected moment during the concert. Earlier in the show, Dion momentarily forgot the lyrics to her French-language hit “Pour que tu m’aimes encore.” She acknowledged the lapse to the audience, and the crowd responded by singing the lyrics back to her. The exchange became another emotional moment during a residency that has marked her return to regular live performances.

Dion’s Paris residency began on Sept. 12, 2026, marking her first full concert series in more than six years. Her live performances had been interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent health challenges, including her public announcement in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.

The singer previously canceled planned performances while focusing on her health and rehabilitation. She later made a high-profile appearance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she performed “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower. Her return to a full concert schedule in September represented a further step in her comeback.

The current residency features a setlist spanning Dion’s French- and English-language catalog, including “My Heart Will Go On,” “The Power of Love,” “Because You Loved Me” and “All by Myself.” The performances have drawn fans from France and other countries, with the singer frequently expressing her gratitude for the support she received during her absence from the stage.

Dion continued her Oct. 7 performance after the fall, and reports indicated that she completed the show. Her team had not issued a separate statement about the incident at the time of the latest reports. The circumstances surrounding the fall have not been officially attributed to a medical issue.

The Paris residency is scheduled to continue through Oct. 17, with another series of 10 concerts planned for May 2027. Dion’s return to the stage remains a major milestone following years away from regular live performances, as she continues to perform while managing her health condition.
