Guy Moon, Emmy-Nominated Composer of ‘The Fairly OddParents,’ Dead at 63

Guy Moon, the Emmy-nominated composer celebrated for his work on Nickelodeon’s The Fairly OddParents and several other beloved animated series, has died at the age of 63. Moon passed away on January 8, 2026, after sustaining traumatic injuries in a traffic collision in Wilmington, California, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office. His family confirmed his death in a statement shared on social media, expressing deep grief and noting the profound impact he had on countless lives through his music.

Moon’s career spanned more than three decades, during which he composed music for iconic children’s television shows, including The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Cow and Chicken, Big Time Rush, and Back at the Barnyard, among others. His work on The Fairly OddParents earned him four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Music and Lyrics, solidifying his reputation in animation music. He also contributed to film soundtracks such as The Brady Bunch Movie, A Very Brady Sequel, Fight Club, Minority Report, and Mystic Pizza.

Born in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, Moon moved to California in the mid-1980s to pursue a career in composition, quickly becoming a fixture in animation scoring with his distinctive and memorable musical style. He was also recognized with Annie Awards and BMI Film & TV Awards during his career.
