John Mayer’s Continuum is back in the spotlight as Billboard revisits the 12-track album and ranks every song. Originally released in 2006, the album remains one of Mayer’s most recognized projects, blending blues, rock, pop and R&B influences. Billboard published its new track-by-track ranking on Sept. 11, 2026.
The ranking covers the complete standard edition of Continuum, beginning with “Waiting on the World to Change” and including songs such as “I Don’t Trust Myself (With Loving You),” “Belief,” “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” “Gravity,” “The Heart of Life,” “Vultures,” “Stop This Train,” “Dreaming With a Broken Heart,” “In Repair,” “I’m Gonna Find Another You” and Mayer’s cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Bold as Love.”
Billboard’s list places “Waiting on the World to Change,” “Bold as Love” and “I’m Gonna Find Another You” among the lower positions, while the ranking gives higher placements to other songs from the album. The publication’s ranking is presented as a retrospective assessment of all 12 tracks rather than a new chart ranking.
Continuum was released on Sept. 12, 2006, making 2026 its 20th anniversary year. The album originally debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and produced major singles including “Waiting on the World to Change,” “Gravity” and “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.”
The album also earned Mayer two Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album, while “Waiting on the World to Change” won Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. Its 20-year anniversary has brought renewed attention to the record and its place in Mayer’s catalog.
Mayer remains active in 2026, with upcoming performances listed for October, including a Radio City Music Hall event in New York and a show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
