Mass Appeal Announces ‘Legend Has It’ Series Featuring New Albums from Nas, Ghostface Killah & More
Mass Appeal has unveiled an ambitious project titled Legend Has It, set to release seven highly anticipated albums throughout 2025. This series will showcase new works from some of hip-hop’s most iconic artists, including Nas, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Mobb Deep, De La Soul, Big L, and an unannounced surprise artist. The initiative reflects Mass Appeal’s commitment to preserving and advancing the legacy of East Coast hip-hop.

The first release from the series is Ghostface Killah’s Set the Tone (Guns & Roses), which dropped on May 10, 2024. This album features collaborations with Nas, Kanye West, Raekwon, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Sheek Louch, and Ja Rule, among others. The lead single, “Scar Tissue,” marks the first joint track between Ghostface Killah and Nas since 1995’s “Verbal Intercourse” on Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx .
Following Set the Tone, Nas is preparing to release his untitled collaborative album with DJ Premier. The duo’s first single, “Define My Name,” was released on April 19, 2024, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Nas’ debut album, Illmatic. The full album is expected to drop later this year .
Additionally, Nas is set to release The Lost Tapes 2, a compilation of unreleased material, and a posthumous album from Pimp C, under the Mass Appeal label .
The Legend Has It series aims to celebrate the rich history of hip-hop while introducing fresh content from some of its most influential figures. Fans can look forward to a year filled with significant releases that honor the genre’s legacy and its ongoing evolution.
