Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” Ascends to No. 1 on Pop Airplay Charts

Sabrina Carpenter has reached a remarkable milestone with her song “Manchild” claiming the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart dated September 6. This achievement marks her sixth time at the top of this radio ranking, showcasing her continued success in the pop music scene.

Released by Island Records and promoted to radio by REPUBLIC, “Manchild” follows a string of Carpenter’s chart-topping hits, including “Bed Chem,” which dominated for two weeks earlier this year, as well as “Taste,” “Please Please Please,” “Espresso,” and “Feather.”

Her accomplishments span three albums, with four of these hits, “Bed Chem,” “Taste,” “Please Please Please,” and “Espresso”, originating from her 2024 album Short n’ Sweet. This album became notable as the first since Taylor Swift’s 1989 to produce at least four No. 1 singles on the Pop Airplay chart, highlighting Carpenter’s rising influence. In 2023, she also released “Feather” from the deluxe edition of her 2022 album Emails I Can’t Send, and “Manchild” serves as the lead single for her latest full-length album, Man’s Best Friend, released on August 29.

Carpenter stands out in 2025 by being the only artist with three No. 1 hits on Pop Airplay so far, underscoring her dominance on mainstream radio. Impressively, she achieved six No. 1s in just one year and five months, a pace unmatched in over 15 years, reminiscent of Lady Gaga’s rapid ascent with six chart-toppers between 2009 and 2010. Moreover, “Manchild” represents a personal milestone for Carpenter as the first No. 1 on the chart she co-produced, adding to her role as a co-writer on all her chart-leading songs.

The Pop Airplay chart evaluates songs based on weekly plays across more than 150 mainstream Top 40 radio stations, tracked by Mediabase and reported by Luminate to Billboard. The chart update for September 6 will be published on Billboard.com on Wednesday, September 3, slightly later than usual due to the Labour Day holiday. Sabrina Carpenter’s impressive run on the Pop Airplay chart highlights her growing impact and versatility as an artist in today’s music landscape.
