Cardi B Explains Why She’s Been ‘So Silent on Politics’ Lately: ‘I Tried to Give People Warnings’

Cardi B has responded to observations about her low public engagement in political discourse, explaining that her recent silence stems from a deep awareness of her influence. In an interview published by Industry Previews, she noted that during the past four years, she has been cautious because she knows “there’s a president that knows I’ve never supported him,” and that even if her words aren’t delivered “the prettiest way,” she recognises that “they listen to what I’m saying.” She added, “I tried to give people warnings and it is what it is. What I can do? What I can say?”

Cardi recalled a period when she declared she “wasn’t voting for nobody,” reacting to disillusionment with the candidates. She mentioned taking fire for that stance—people “made fun of my accent” and mocked her speech during a Kamala Harris rally. “Aight. Y’all gonna see what’s funny. Sh–t ain’t funny right now, isn’t it? It’s really tough out here. Sh–t is really rough out here for everybody. I tried to warn ya,” she said.
