Taylor Swift’s cinematic event Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl opened at No. 1 at the box office, raking in approximately $15.8 million on its first Friday. The event, tied to her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, ran in theatres from October 3 to October 5 as a limited‑window release.

The film, an 89‑minute mix of music video premieres, behind‑the‑scenes footage, lyric videos, and Swift’s reflections, is projected to earn between $25 million and $30 million across the opening weekend. In its first day, it nearly hit $16 million in earnings.
The box office draw outpaced other new releases. One Battle After Another took second with about $3.3 million, while The Smashing Machine landed in third with roughly $2.7 million. In ticket pre‐sales, the Release Party of a Showgirl had already pulled in $15 million within 24 hours of the presale opening, with AMC itself generating around $7.5 million in that span.
The album The Life of a Showgirl also saw an explosive debut. It shattered records as Spotify’s most pre‑saved album, and on release day became the platform’s most‑streamed album in 2025, reaching that milestone in under 11 hours. Its lead single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” reportedly set a one‑day streaming record as well.
