Ariana Grande has extended her remarkable run on the U.K. Albums Chart. Her latest album, Petal, has debuted at No. 1, giving the pop star her sixth consecutive chart-topper in the country. Grande’s streak began with Dangerous Woman in 2016. She followed it with Sweetener in 2018, Thank U, Next in 2019, Positions in 2020, and Eternal Sunshine in 2024.
Her first two albums, Yours Truly and My Everything, did not reach the top spot in the U.K. They peaked at No. 7 and No. 3 respectively.
The latest achievement comes as Grande prepares to return to the stage for the final leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour. The closing run begins Aug. 15 at London’s The O2, where she will perform 10 shows. The tour began in San Francisco in June and has taken the singer through a career-spanning set of her biggest releases.
Grande is also preparing to step away from the spotlight once the tour ends. Earlier this week, a representative confirmed to People that the singer plans to take a break from public-facing work and appearances.
The representative said Grande wants to finish the tour on a positive note before taking time away from the constant public attention. The break will also give her a chance to step back from the scrutiny that has surrounded her career in recent years.
Grande was previously scheduled to appear in a production of Sunday in the Park With George at London’s Barbican Centre. She was set to perform alongside her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey. Elsewhere on the U.K. Albums Chart, Michael Jackson’s The Essential remains at No. 2. Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love holds at No. 3.
Olivia Dean moves up to No. 4 with The Art of Loving, following her headline performance at Chicago’s Lollapalooza on Aug. 1. Sienna Spiro also climbs, reaching No. 5 with her debut album The Visitor after performing at the festival.
Katy Perry’s greatest hits collection The Ones That Got the Plays reaches a new peak at No. 8 following her recent run of U.K. shows. Luke Combs also makes a move up the chart. His album The Way I Am rises to No. 15 after he became the first solo country act to headline Wembley Stadium. The album previously reached No. 4 in March.
For Grande, Petal adds another major milestone to an already impressive U.K. chart record. Six consecutive No. 1 albums now place her among the most consistent pop stars of the past decade.
