Ella Langley is celebrating another major milestone for “Choosin’ Texas,” which has extended its reign at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a 21st week. The latest chart, dated Sept. 12, 2026, keeps the country star’s breakout hit at the top of the all-genre ranking and moves it within one week of tying the longest-running No. 1 in the chart’s history.
Langley reacted to the achievement on Sept. 8 by reposting Billboard and Billboard Charts posts announcing the latest Hot 100 result to her Instagram Story. She wrote “Unreal” over the post while tagging the song’s co-writers Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor, along with a mind-blown emoji and a smiling face holding back tears.
“Choosin’ Texas” first reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 in February and has now accumulated 21 weeks at the summit. The song is currently second on the all-time list for most weeks at No. 1, trailing only Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has spent 22 weeks atop the chart across multiple holiday seasons.
The latest week was supported by 24.5 million official U.S. streams, 58.1 million radio airplay audience impressions and 7,000 sales during the Aug. 28-Sept. 3 tracking period. The Billboard Hot 100 combines streaming, radio airplay and sales to determine its weekly ranking.
The song is also continuing its run across Billboard’s country and streaming charts. “Choosin’ Texas” has reached a 39th week at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs and a 21st week atop Streaming Songs. Its 21 weeks at No. 1 on Streaming Songs also put it ahead of Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” for the second-longest run at the top of that chart, behind Carey’s 26-week mark.
The song’s crossover success has extended beyond the United States as well. Earlier in September, “Choosin’ Texas” reached No. 1 on the U.K. Singles Chart, giving Langley her first leader on the British chart. Spotify also included the track among its most-streamed songs of summer 2026 after it reached No. 1 in the U.S. and spent 98 days in the platform’s Global Top 50.
“Choosin’ Texas” has also continued to set records within country music. Its 21 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 make it the longest-running No. 1 hit by a female country artist on the all-genre chart. The song has also accumulated multiple returns to the top of the Hot 100 during its release cycle.
With another week at No. 1, Langley would tie Carey’s 22-week record. The next Billboard Hot 100 update will determine whether “Choosin’ Texas” reaches that mark and moves into a tie for the longest reign in the chart’s history.
