Green Day Teases Trailer for Coming-of-Age Road Trip Comedy ‘New Year’s Rev’

Green Day has unveiled the teaser trailer for New Year’s Rev, a spirited coming-of-age road trip comedy loosely inspired by the band’s gruelling early days on tour. Directed and written by Lee Kirk, the film premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12 and features a cast led by Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, and Ryan Foust as the hopeful young band, “the Analog Dogs”.

The trailer centres on the trio mistakenly believing they’ve landed the opportunity of a lifetime, opening for Green Day at a New Year’s Eve concert. Their excitement is tempered by the realisation that it’s all an elaborate prank, triggering a wild journey from Kansas to California.

The ensemble cast also includes fan-favorites like Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, along with appearances by Fred Armisen, McKenna Grace, Bobby Lee, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Kenny Ruffalo, and Sean Gunn. Green Day’s frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong, along with his bandmates Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, serve as co-producers.
