Lena Dunham Finally Got to Watch Taylor Swift’s Fiancé and Can Proclaim That She Is Now Definitely In Her ‘Sports Era’

Lena Dunham — the writer-director and former star of Girls — has publicly marked a shift in mood: she says she’s now fully entered what she calls the “sports era,” after attending a live game to watch Taylor Swift’s fiancé Travis Kelce in action.

On December 7, 2025, Dunham joined Swift in a VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to cheer on Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs during their game against the Houston Texans.

After the game — which the Chiefs lost 20–10 — Dunham shared selfies on Instagram wearing Chiefs gear alongside her producing partner, calling the Chiefs her “first home team,” even though she’s originally from New York and currently lives in London.

In her post, she included a direct shout-out to Kelce with “Love you @killatrav,” and joked about her growing interest in football: “If you see me in a new piece of Chiefs merch every day for the next 17 months, blame @handler.official and keep moving.”

Her declaration, “She’s in her sports era,” was widely interpreted as a nod to Taylor Swift — acknowledging the shift as Swift embraces supporting Kelce and the Chiefs publicly.
