Sabrina Carpenter & Chappell Roan Bring Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’ to Life in a Festive Netflix Special

The holiday season just got a little brighter with Sabrina Carpenter’s Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas, which debuted on December 7. The 25-year-old pop star delivered an evening filled with music, laughter, and holiday cheer, and one of the standout moments was her duet with singer Chappell Roan. Together, they reimagined Wham!’s iconic 1984 hit “Last Christmas” in a whimsical and nostalgic performance.

Set in the aftermath of a lively holiday house party, the scene captured a playful chaos of empty wine bottles and red cups scattered across the floor. Carpenter, dressed in a velvety green ensemble, and Roan, cozy in a winter coat, sang the beloved tune karaoke-style, reading the lyrics off a vintage TV. Their heartfelt rendition added a touch of charm and camaraderie to the festive atmosphere.

The special didn’t stop there—it was packed with memorable collaborations and surprises. Carpenter teamed up with Tyla for a soulful take on “This Christmas,” joined Shania Twain for a cheeky duet of “Santa Baby,” and invited Kali Uchis to perform a whimsical rendition of “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.” The variety show blended holiday classics, comedic sketches, and tracks from Carpenter’s seasonal EP Fruitcake.

Fans were also treated to a spicy remix of her hit song “Nonsense” from the Emails I Can’t Send album. This holiday-themed version turned up the festive flirtation with playful lines like, “Think I only want you under my mistletoe/ I might change your contact to ‘Has a huge North Pole.’” The cheeky lyrics showcased Carpenter’s knack for mixing humor and holiday spirit seamlessly.

A Nonsense Christmas was a joyful celebration of music, creativity, and collaboration, perfectly capturing the magic of the season while giving fans new takes on timeless holiday classics.
