Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ inaugural Future Ruins festival, slated for November 8 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Centre, has been officially cancelled.

In a statement on the festival’s website and social media, the organizers cited “a number of logistical challenges and complications” as the reason they could not deliver the experience they had intended. They indicated they would rather pause than compromise on the vision.
Ticket holders are to receive full refunds automatically, and will be emailed further details.
The festival was designed as a one‑of‑its‑kind showcase of film and television composers stepping into a live setting, presenting reimagined versions of their scores across multiple stages. Lineups had included names like Danny Elfman, John Carpenter, Mark Mothersbaugh, and contributions from Reznor & Ross themselves.
Fans commenting on forums noted a lack of continued promotion or updates following the initial announcement, and some speculated that sluggish ticket sales may have been a factor.
With Future Ruins shelved for now, attention returns to Reznor and Ross’ ongoing work in composing for film and their other projects.
