Micky Dolenz As the Last Monkee Standing: ‘It’s Time to Take Off the Black Armband and Just Celebrate’

Micky Dolenz, the sole surviving member of The Monkees, has announced a special 2026 tour titled 60 Years of The Monkees to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the band’s beginnings — a milestone Dolenz says calls for celebration rather than sorrow.

The tour is scheduled to launch on February 12, 2026 in Solana Beach, California, and will conclude on November 6, 2026 in Northfield, Ohio.

Dolenz has stated that the performances will feature The Monkees’ hits played in chronological order — spanning chart-topping classics to fan favourites — accompanied by anecdotes and reflections from his decades in the spotlight.

He acknowledged the losses of his former bandmates Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith, but stressed that the time has come to “take off the black armband and just celebrate” the legacy and joy the band brought.

Dolenz is also actively dispelling misinformation circulating online. He recently warned fans about numerous fake, AI-generated posts purporting to be announcements from him — urging followers to trust only his official social media or his website.
