Drake Celebrates Blue Jays’ Historic World Series Return: “We’re Going to the Big Show”

Drake couldn’t contain his excitement on Monday night as his hometown Toronto Blue Jays punched their first ticket to the World Series in 32 years. The team’s dramatic 4–3 victory over the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the ALCS had the 6 God celebrating like a proud fan watching history unfold.

Toronto sealed the win behind a clutch three-run homer from George Springer, and Drake was locked in for every pitch. When the final out dropped, he jumped on Instagram to share the moment with fans. “World Series bound,” he wrote, a caption fittingly paired with a throwback photo from his 2021 night at Dodger Stadium, when he famously rented the venue for a private dinner date with Johanna Leia.

Moments later, he posted a clip to his Story, hyped as the Jays clinched the win. “One strike away, we’re going to the big show,” Drake shouted as his crew — including longtime OVO affiliate Chubbs — erupted in celebration. “Get the boys a pizza and some cokes,” he joked, clearly riding the high of Toronto’s long-awaited return to baseball’s grandest stage.

It’s been a long road back for the Blue Jays, who last won consecutive championships in 1992 and 1993. Now, they’ll face the Los Angeles Dodgers, a team chasing a repeat title, and a matchup that fans are already connecting to Drake’s own 2024 musical rivalry with Compton’s Kendrick Lamar.

With Game 1 set for Friday night in Toronto, it’s safe to assume Drake will be in attendance, likely wearing some new custom ice. He already has a Blue Jays–Raptors–CN Tower pendant designed by Alex Moss, complete with the signature sparkle of someone who lives for these moments.

As the city gears up for the World Series, one thing’s for sure, Toronto isn’t just back on the baseball map; it’s about to have Drake leading the cheers from the front row.
